Inspired by the quiet beauty of the Roseland Peninsula, Emily creates hand‑shaped ceramics that echo the textures, tides and natural forms of the coast, pieces you’ll also find thoughtfully placed throughout The Idle Rocks and cherished by Karen Richards.
From her cosy studio in the hamlet of Bohortha, Emily offers mindful clay workshops designed to help guests slow down, switch off and reconnect through the gentle, grounding act of making.
Emily’s workshops invite you to explore different techniques, from hand‑building to time on the wheel, and the unique process of raku firing creating a piece to take home as a tactile reminder of your time by the sea. Each session is warm, relaxed and restorative, encouraging presence over perfection and creativity over outcome. Through the tactile nature of clay, guests engage their senses, ease stress and enjoy a deeper sense of wellbeing.
It’s a calming, creative way to connect with the landscape, the craft and yourself — a mindful coastal experience shaped by stillness, texture and the quiet rhythm of making.
