Getting Here

Our location on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall is well connected by Rail, Road or Air.

We would however recommend a car should you want to explore the surrounding Cornish countryside.

The Idle Rocks,
Harbourside,
St. Mawes,
Cornwall,
TR2 5AN

By Road:

Please be aware that many Sat Navs will direct you via the King Harry Ferry, however this stops running at 21.20pm in summer time.

We would recommend when using Sat Navs, that you choose to “avoid ferries”; this will direct you via road which is usually the most direct route.

On arrival into the village, via the A3078, turn right onto Upper Castle Road, following signs for the castle; this will bring you into the village from the west.

The Idle Rocks is located past the harbour on the right hand side.

Car Parking

Sadly, we are not currently offering valet parking.  However, on arrival please park outside the hotel for us to unload your luggage and provide you with directions for parking.

Lower Car Park (Spaces 11-20)

This car park is located just opposite the hotel.

The car park also has charging points for electric cars including Tesla. You can find more about Tesla charging points on the Tesla website

Upper Car Park (Spaces 1-10)

Within the public car park you will see ‘The Idle Rocks Additional Parking’ sign to the left-hand side.  Follow these signs up to the upper car park and park within one of the Idle Rocks bays.

Complimentary car parking permits for Idle Rocks guests are available to collect from reception.  We have a somewhat zealous council car park attendant so if you forget to clearly display The Idle Rocks permit you are very likely to be fined and unfortunately this is something we can’t avoid.

By Rail:

There are regular train services from London and the Midlands to Truro Station, via Great Western Railways, from where we can arrange for guests to be collected (approx. 45 mins).

By Air:

There are regular flights from throughout the UK and Europe to Cornwall Newquay Airport, including London, Manchester ,Dublin, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Berlin, Stuttgart and many more.

We can arrange for guests to be collected from the airport (approx. 45 mins).
