Arrival Day (23rd December)
A warm welcome awaits your arrival in St Mawes.
Check in to your luxurious room, and take in the sea air, while relaxing & refuelling from your journey, with homemade mince pies & mulled wine.
Join fellow guests, for a welcome drink & festive nibbles, of course saving plenty of room for a 3-course dinner in the Reef Knot Restaurant that evening, prepared with the finest seasonal ingredients, thoughtfully prepared by our culinary team.
Christmas Eve
After a full Cornish breakfast overlooking the wonderful Fal estuary, take advantage of complimentary tickets to the beautiful Trelissick House & Gardens, where you can enjoy the Winter scenes, festive ambience & stunning views of the Fal River.
Return to the warmth of the hotel for a curated tasting of Trevibban Mill wines, perfectly paired with festive canapés.
As evening draws in, gather in the Reef Knot Restaurant for a convivial supper club experience—an exquisite three-course dinner crafted from the season’s best ingredients and served in the company of fellow guests and our passionate culinary team.
To end the day, test your mettle in the infamous Idle Christmas quiz, before retreating to the comfort of your room for a peaceful night’s rest, ready to embrace the festivities that await on Christmas Day.
Christmas Day
Begin your day amid the stunning views of Cornwall’s Fal Estuary, the perfect setting for exchanging gifts and enjoying a traditional Cornish breakfast paired with a Moet Mimosa.
After a stroll along the picturesque harbour, taking in the festive scenes around the village, we invite our guests to gather in the Reef Knot Restaurant for a sumptuous traditional Cornish Christmas lunch, complemented by all the customary trimmings and some exceptional seasonal delicacies.
With no washing up to worry about, take the opportunity to settle into the inviting lounge for a festive tipple among friends old and new, or enjoy The King’s Speech in the comfort of our exclusive Hidden Cinema.
As dusk settles, a festive buffet awaits you in the Reef Knot Restaurant, ensuring your Christmas Day concludes with culinary delights and convivial company.
Boxing Day
Boxing Day commences with a relaxed breakfast, (including Bloody Marys!), followed by an invitation to set sail on the St Mawes Ferry for a scenic voyage across the Fal River to Falmouth. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy views of historic landmarks and the vibrant Falmouth harbour, as well as explore the town before returning to St Mawes.
The afternoon is dedicated to creativity, with Head Chef Carla leading a Christmas cake decorating workshop designed to inspire artistic expression.
Resist eating your festive creation, (you can take it home!), as you’ll need to save plenty of room for a Boxing Day Festive Buffet, celebrating the finest Cornish produce. It’s a fitting finale to a wonderful and indulgent Cornish Christmas at The Idle Rocks.

To confirm your reservation, we require a deposit of 50% of your total stay at the time of booking. Should you cancel more than 4 weeks before the day of arrival, your deposit is fully refundable. Should you cancel within 4 weeks of your arrival, we regret that the full charge for the amount of your full stay will be charged.
