The Roseland Explorer

A Two‑Night Journey from Shoreline to Garden Path –  a gentle passage across the Roseland, from sea‑washed headlands to sheltered subtropical gardens.

Settle into The Idle Rocks for two midweek nights and let the Roseland Peninsula reveal itself in all its moods — bright, windswept, misty, or sun‑soaked. The Roseland is one of Cornwall’s most quietly captivating corners: a landscape of sheltered creeks, wooded valleys, sweeping headlands and small, unhurried villages. It feels removed from the rush of the world, shaped by tidal rhythms, coastal paths and centuries of maritime history. This is an escape for travellers who like to follow their curiosity — to drift between heritage sites and hidden gardens, to cross the water by ferry, to wander footpaths with a packed lunch in hand, and to embrace the quiet, unhurried magic of the Roseland Peninsula.

Your Roseland Explorer package includes:

Two nights’ accommodation in a sea-view room

A chef‑prepared packed lunch for your day of exploring.

Full Cornish breakfast on each morning

Access to St Mawes Castle:

A striking blend of history and coastline — a circular Tudor fortress with sweeping sea views, hidden stairways and atmospheric interiors that feel even more magical on a grey, moody day

A scenic Place Ferry crossing:

A quiet glide across the harbour that opens up the Roseland’s footpaths, gardens and hidden corners, setting the tone for slow, exploratory travel

Entry to Lamorran Gardens:

A lush, subtropical maze of palms, terraces and shaded walkways that stay atmospheric even on drizzly days — one of the Roseland’s most enchanting detours

A copy of Roseland Walks:

A beautifully simple guidebook filled with local routes, hidden paths and coastal viewpoints — the perfect companion for discovering the peninsula at your own pace

Price: from £1040, based on 2 people sharing a sea-view room

From misty garden paths to atmospheric castle interiors, it’s a beautifully flexible escape — perfect for embracing the Roseland in any weather.
