31 December – New Year’s Eve
Arrive from the afternoon for a welcome drink and a leisurely Afternoon Tea, giving you time to unwind before the celebrations begin.
This year’s celebration takes the shape of A Taste of Cornwall – The Idle House Party: a lively, elegant gathering inspired by Cornish flavours and the easy sociability of a house party. Expect Cornish fizz, canapés, and a multi‑course menu centred around local produce, with a relaxed, sharing‑style feel.
Throughout the night, live music brings a joyful energy as guests mingle, chat and drift between the bar and restaurant. As midnight approaches, everyone steps outside for a harbour‑side toast, before returning indoors for nightcaps and the final moments of celebration.
1 January — New Year’s Day
A slow, restorative morning begins with a late breakfast and a festive drink to ease into the first day of the year.
A long, Sunday‑lunch style service follows, relaxed, generous and perfect for lingering into the afternoon. This is an optional dining experience, simply added to your room bill should you wish to join us.
As the day unfolds, guests can shape their own pace with a choice of optional afternoon and evening experiences:

Pizza & quiz night at St Mawes Hotel: a fun, informal way to spend the evening
