A calming, creative escape designed to help you slow down, reconnect and find stillness through the gentle art of making.
Settle into two peaceful nights at The Idle Rocks, where sea air, soft light and unhurried moments create the perfect backdrop for mindful restoration. Your stay includes breakfast each morning, a four‑hour clay workshop with Experience Emily Arts & Ceramics, and a 60‑minute Idle Rocks x SEVAN aromatherapy massage; a soothing blend of creativity, calm and coastal ease.
The Clay Workshop
Experience Emily Arts & Ceramics offers a warm, nurturing space to slow down and reconnect through mindful making. Inspired by the tides, textures and quiet beauty of the Roseland Peninsula, Emily’s studio in Bohortha, just a 20 minute drive away, is a cosy, relaxed environment where creativity unfolds gently and without pressure.
Her ceramics are loved at The Idle Rocks, thoughtfully placed around the hotel and a personal favourite of Karen Richards, adding a touch of local artistry and coastal soul to the spaces guests enjoy.
Your four‑hour workshop is shaped around mindfulness in making and creating. You’ll explore hand‑building techniques, spend time at the wheel, and finish the day with the quiet satisfaction of raku firing a pot to take home, a tactile reminder of your time on the coast. The focus is on presence rather than perfection, allowing you to switch off, engage your senses and enjoy the restorative rhythm of working with clay.
A traditional Cornish high tea is served during the day, homemade sandwiches and cakes crafted with preserves grown in Emily’s own allotment, adding a touch of local warmth to the experience.
SEVAN Spa
Your 60‑minute Idle Rocks x SEVAN aromatherapy massage deepens the sense of relaxation. Warm oils, intuitive movements and the soft hush of the treatment room create a moment of complete release, a chance to breathe more deeply, soften the mind and let tension melt away. It’s a gentle complement to the clay experience, bringing balance, calm and a deeper sense of wellbeing.
