20 Best Places to Eat by the Sea

Having just received the accolade of  20 Best Places to Eat by the Sea (The Times) we are just about to launch the new season’s menu. Grilled Lobsters, Surf’n’Turf, sit alongside such classics such as Grilled Mullet with Cornish Anchovies (only around these waters for a few weeks) and Sauce Vierge, you will not find anything fresher and more authentic.

First person to read this and order any of the above gets two glasses of Champagne on the House….

September in St. Mawes? Surely not…

St Mawes in September

As the Indian Summer continues, you will not believe how beautiful St. Mawes is right now. This taken in mid afternoon from our famous harbourside terrace. A few hours in the car, or just around the corner, come and join us; next event the wonderful sunset…

Working Boat

Following on from my last post, I’m pleased to say that our guest had a wonderful time onboard the working boat, Helen Mary. It’s hard work, but thanks to Kevin and his crew, everybody made a safe return to the bar at the St Mawes Hotel where refreshments were graciously accepted.

The life of a Concierge

One thing about working as a concierge is you never know what sort of request you may get, they can range from the  strange (a mariachi band to follow the guest round for the night), to the difficult (five VIP tickets for the Rolling Stones 3 hours before the show, the show was in Paris the hotel was in central London) or the occasional naughty one (I couldn’t possibly say)!

As a concierge in St Mawes it’s a pleasure to introduce our beautiful county to guests. From sub-tropical gardens to music festivals or a romantic secluded beach, there truly is something here for everyone.

Our latest request was for a guest to go aboard and take part in the St Mawes Working Boat race, and thanks to local boat owners John and Kevin Andrews, we have managed to accommodate. If you’re in the area tomorrow, drop in and watch the action from our terrace… I wonder if that mariachi band are available.
